A retired teacher was stabbed to death by miscreants in front of Bogura Sadar Police Station on Friday night.

One of the miscreants named Samrat Menodi Khairul, 40, was held by the police.  

Deceased Rezaul Karim Panna was the retired lecturer of Bogura Government Azizul Haque College.

Eyewitnesses said that Rezaul was going towards Satmatha through Kabi Nazrul Islam Road on his motorcycle. The miscreants attacked him in front of the district headquarters police station. When he fell from the motorcycle and they stabbed him with a sharp weapon. 

When the miscreants tried to flee the scene, the crowd caught Samrat along with sharp weapons and handed him over to the police.

Meanwhile, Rezaul was rescued by the police and taken to Bogura Shaheed Ziaur Rahman Medical College Hospital where the doctors declared him dead.

Confirming the matter, Bogra Sadar Outpost Police Inspector Shahinuzzaman Shaheen said that the detained Samrat is an identified criminal.
