DHAKA: A teenager, who sustained severe burn injuries when blockaders torched a city bus, succumbed to his injures on Thursday night.

The deceased was identified as Nahid Morol, a class-IX student of Kutubpur High School.

Earlier, at least 19 people, including journalist, police and lawyer, sustained burn injuries as blockaders torched a passenger bus in front of Mathshya Bhaban in the capital at around 6:15pm.

Of the injured, Nahid died at burn unit of Dhaka Medical College Hospital around 11:00pm after fighting with death for five hours.

Burn unit doctor Dr Hussain Imam said 53 percent of Nahid’s body had been burnt. He died as his respiratory organ was burnt severely.
