A Bangladeshi was shot by Indian Border Security Force (BSF) in Butirpukur border at Tentulia upazila of Panchagarh district.
The injured is Polash, 35, son of Abdur Rahman, a resident of Bogulahogi village in the upazila. He is a stone worker.
According to locals, Polash along with others were collecting pebbles from Sao river in the village at about 2.00pm. A patrol team of BSF opened fire at the stone workers at that time, leaving Polash critically injured.
Later, other stone workers rushed to the spot and rescued Polash.
The workers took Polash to Panchagarh Adhunik Hospital for treatment. He was then referred to Rangpur Medical College Hospital.
Dr Rakibul Hasan of Panchagarh Adhunik Hospital confirmed the matter to Banglanews.
Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB-18) battalion commander Lt Col Jobaed Hasan said they were trying to communicate with BSF and a flag meeting would be held in this regard.
