On the fourth day of Eid journey, Bangladesh Railway failed to maintain the process of timely departure of trains, aggravating the sufferings of passengers during the Eid holidays.

Trains starting from Kamalapur Railway Station are being delayed for around 2 hours, Banglanews correspondent reports. 

Throngs of passengers have been gathering on the platform of the train station since morning for their respective trains to reach their hometowns to celebrate Eid-ul-Azha. 

Meanwhile, the schedules of all the trains were disrupted on Tuesday, the fourth day of Eid travels by train.

Especially trains leaving for the Northern side of the country are being delayed by 2hours.

Dhumketu Express train from Rajshahi was scheduled to leave at 6am, but due to schedule disruption, the train departed the platform after 8am.

Nilsagar Express was scheduled to leave for Chilahati at 6:40am but did not arrive at the platform after two hours. 

Sundarban Express was scheduled to leave at 8:15 am but left the platform at 9:10 am.

Passengers complained that this time the schedule of any train before and after Eid was not appropriate. 

One of Sundarban Express passengers Sagufta Afroze said, 'I have been sitting since morning. There is still no announcement about the train. I am getting frustrated. Almost all the trains are departing late. Everyone is anxious. The train's toilet is also dirty and unhygienic.'

Sohrab Hossen, a passenger of Dhumketu Express, said, 'I have come with my family from home in the morning. When I arrived and looked, there was no train on the platform. After a long wait, the train has arrived. Then we had to board the dirty train.'

Dhaka Railway Station Master Afsar Uddin said, 'There is no reason for the trains to depart late from here. The trains are getting delayed as they are making late to arrive at Dhaka Railway Station. That is why they are also departing late.'
