The operations of the metro rail service have been halted due to a technical problem with the overhead electric lines.

The service remains suspended in the capital’s Uttara-Aagargaon route since 9:30am this morning.

Iftikhar Hossain, general manager (operations) of Dhaka Mass Transit Company Ltd confirmed the matter.

Metro rail movement will be normal after the fault is rectified, he added. 

However, he could not provide a definite timeframe for when the glitch would be fixed.
