Police recovered the body of an Awami League (AL) leader from a residential hotel in Cox's Bazar on Monday (August 21).

The deceased has been identified as Saif Uddin, 45, information and research affairs secretary of Cox's Bazar Municipal unit Awami League.

Police recovered the body, with his hands and feet tied from behind, from a room at “Hotel Sunmoon” around 10am.

Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Cox's Bazar Sadar Model police station Rafiqul Islam confirmed the matter.

Further details would be revealed after investigation, he added.
