Some unidentified miscreants set fire on a sugar carrying truck at Lalpole in Feni Sadar upazila early Thursday, the last day of the three-day nationwide blockade called by BNP, its allies, and Jamaat-e-Islami.
The truck was set on fire on the Dhaka-Chittagong Highway around 4am.
However, there were no casualties reported.
According to Wasi Azad, warehouse inspector of Feni Fire Service and Civil Defence Station, "We rushed to the spot and doused the fire at 4:20am. The front of the truck was burnt in the fire.”
Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Feni Model Police Station Shahidul Islam Chowdhury confirmed the matter
Police rushed to the spot and assisted the fire service to douse the blaze, he said, adding legal action in this regard will be taken.
Earlier on October 29, the BNP and Jamaat announced nationwide blockades for three days starting 31 October to press home their one-point demand of immediate resignation of the ruling government.
