Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) members have been deployed in Dhaka and adjacent areas to ensure security amid the ongoing demonstrations of the ready-made garment (RMG) workers.

BGB public relations officer Shariful Islam confirmed the matter on Thursday (November 2).

Troops have been deployed in Ashulia, Savar, Mirpur, Rampura, Abdullahpur, Tongi, Gazipur, Konabari, Sharuiful Islam, public relations officer at BGB headquarters, said.

Workers of garment factories have been demonstrating for the past few days, demanding a minimum basic salary of Tk 23,000, in Dhaka and elsewhere.
