CHANDPUR: A Jubo Dal activist was killed and 10 other blockaders were injured in a clash with law enforcers in Mohamaya Bazar area under Sadar upazila of the district on Wednesday afternoon.

The deceased was identified as Faruq Patwary, 32, son of Abdur Razzaq, resident of the area.

Officer-in-Charge of Chandpur Model Thana Mahbub Morshed told banglanews that the blockaders chucked brick chips aiming police personnel and members of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) while they were patrolling in the area around 5:30pm.

Police opened fire rubber bullets to disperse the blockaders and take the situation under control, leaving Faruq and 10 others injured critically.

However, the injured were rushed to Chandpur General Hospital where on duty doctor declared Faruq dead.

Police Super of the district Amir Zafar confirmed the matter to banglanews.
