Law minister Anisul Huq today (February 1) has said the government is not carrying out any actions against Nobel laureate Dr Muhammad Yunus to harass him.
He made the remark while providing the context behind the case filed against Dr Muhammad Yunus to journalist at the secretariat in the capital.
The minister during the press conference claimed that, “Despite having evidences, it is being spread abroad that all the allegations that emerged against Dr. Yunus are false and we are doing this to harass him.”
“Government is not harassing Dr. Yunus with any false case against him. The case was filed by the workers, and the concerned department is responsible for protecting the rights of the workers. No one is above the law, if you commit a crime you must face the law,” he added.
The minister also urged the media to highlight the truth and correct information regarding the case.
