DHAKA: Environment and Forests Minister Dr Hasan Mahmud on Tuesday said Jatiya Party Chairman HM Ershad, who is now admitted to hospital, can go to home if he wants.

The minister, also publicity secretary of ruling Awami League, made the assertion while talking to journalists at his secretariat office in the city.

Dr Mahmud told the journalists that prime minister mentioned that Ershad was taken to hospital to be cured from his ailment.

In response to a question on release of Ershad, he also said, “A patient can be taken to a playground providing him mental relief. Ershad wanted to play golf that’s why he was taken to the golf ground.”

Whenever, he (Ershad) would feel better, he can go home, he told the newsmen.
