Two people, including a woman, were killed and six others were injured in separate road accidents in Shahjadpur of Sirajganj. 

These two accidents took place on Friday (May 10) around 11 am at Jugnidah Karitala on the Bogra-Nagarbari highway and at Baghabari area on the same highway at 11:30 pm.

Deceased are - Nargis Khatun, 35, wife of Selim hailed from Tettiarkanda area of Shahjadpur upazila and Arshed Pramanik, 60, of Shelachapari area. 

The injured were rescued and admitted to Baghabari North Bengal Tank-Lorry Cooperative Society Hospital.

According to the police, Nargis Khatun, a passenger of an autovan, was killed by a truck in Jugnidah area. The driver of the autovan was injured. 

On the other hand, at 11:30 am, a truck rammed an autorickshaw and a motorcycle near the Baghabari gas office of the upazila. The autorickshaw passenger Arshed was killed on the spot, said police.

Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Hatikumrul Highway Police Station MA Odud confirmed the matter. 

He said, “I reached the spot. I can provide the details later after investigation.”
