MANIKGANJ: Ferry services on Paturia-Daulatia river route came to a halt since early Friday due to poor visibility caused by dense fog.

Sources said that Paturia Ghat authority has suspended the ferry services from 6:00am to avoid accident.

Confirming the matter, Bangladesh Inland Water Transport Corporation (BIWTC)’s Paturia Ferry Ghat Assistant Manager (commercial) Salauddin told banglanews, “The ferry services will resume when the fog cleared.”

He also said that more than three hundred vehicles remained stranded in both sides of the river for ferry disruption.
