JAMALPUR: Two people were killed and another injured as a commuter train hit a pick-up van at Mikundabazar rail crossing in the district town on Friday morning.

The deceased were the driver and helper of the pick-up van.

A Dhaka-bound commuter train hit the pick-up train around 7am while the victims were trying to pass the rail crossing ignoring signal, leaving its driver and helper dead on the spot and injured passenger.

On information, fire service men rushed to the spot and sent the injured to Jamalpur General Hospital.

Confirming the matter, Jamalpur railway thana officer-in-charge Khokon Sarker told banglanews that police recovered the bodies.
