The Public Service Commission (PSC) has decided to republish the results of the 46th Bangladesh Civil Service (BCS) preliminary examination to uphold transparency, fairness, and impartiality in the recruitment process for top-tier public service positions.
Additionally, the commission has resolved to retake the viva voce for candidates who passed the 44th BCS written examination and re-evaluate the 45th BCS written examination answer scripts by engaging third examiners.
The decisions were made during a meeting of the newly appointed eight PSC members at the commission's office in Dhaka on Monday.
In a press release issued today, the PSC stated that the preliminary results of the 46th BCS, initially released on May 9, had shortlisted 10,638 candidates for the written examination. To address potential disparities, the commission will revise and republish the results, including an equal number of additional candidates deemed eligible for the written examination alongside those already selected.
The commission also deliberated on concerns related to question paper leaks in various cadre and non-cadre examinations.
According to the press release, these decisions aim to ensure transparency, fairness, and impartiality in the recruitment process for both cadre and non-cadre public services.
