The armed forces of Bangladesh and India jointly celebrated the 53rd anniversary of the Liberation War of 1971.
The Indian High Commission in Dhaka shared the information to its website on Monday (December 16).
According to a press release, senior officials from both countries exchanged greetings and sweets at the Agartala-Akhaura border during the Victory Day event.
The Indian Army delegation was led by Major General Sumit Rana, Chief of Staff of the 101 Area, while the Bangladesh Army delegation was headed by Major General Abul Hasnat Mohammad Tariq, GOC of the 33 Infantry Division, the release added.
During the celebration, both sides reaffirmed the deep bond between the armed forces and the people of the two nations, rooted in shared values of justice, freedom, and equality.
