DHAKA: Customs officials seized 40 gold bars weighing 4.5 kilograms from the air freight unit at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport on Wednesday.
Assistant revenue officer Mahbub-e-Khuda of the airport customs confirmed the matter to banglanews.
Mahbub said on information, officials raided the air freight unit of the airport and seized the gold bars after searching there around 11:00am.
The bar was wrapped with black cloths and hidden inside a radiator, which was sent to the address of M/S Nur Electronics.
The estimated market value of the seized gold bars is about Tk 2.25 crore, Mahbub added.
No detention was reported in this connection.
