HABIGANJ: Two motorcyclists were killed in a road accident on Dhaka-Sylhet highway in Chargaon area under Bahubal upazila of the district on Saturday afternoon.

The deceased were identified as Jahir Mia, 35, son of Abdur Rahman and Ranu Chandra Roy, 26, son of Bonomali Roy residents of the area.

Witnesses said that a rashly driven truck crushed into their motorbike in the area around 2:45pm, leaving Jahir dead on the spot and Ranu injured critically.

Fatally injured Ranu was rushed to Habiganj Sadar Hospital and later he succumbed to his injuries on way to Sylhet Osmani Mediacal College Hospital.

Police seized the truck in this connection, said a spot account of the incident.

Sub-Inspector of Shaistaganj Highway Police Station Kamal Uddin confirmed the matter to banglanews.
