CHITTAGONG: Two people were killed in two separate incidents at Mirsarai upazila of the district on Saturday night and Sunday morning.

The victims were identified as Amatun Nur, 52, wife of Safi Ullah, hailed from Wahedpur upazila and Jahangir Alam, 23, son of Siddique Ahmed hailed from Korerhat union of the upazila.

Witnesses said a Dhaka-bound train knocked Amatun Nur while crossing the rail tracks to visit neighbours house around 11:00am Sunday.

Amatun succumbed to her injuries on the way to a local hospital, they added.

On the other hand, Jahangir Alam was electrocuted while repairing an electric line and injured critically on Saturday night.

He was rushed to the Baryarhat General Hospital where he died.
