The High Court (HC) today (Feb 6) canceled the appointment of 6,531 assistant teachers in government primary schools under the third phase of recruitment in Dhaka and Chattogram divisions.

The bench of Justice Fatema Najib and Justice Shikdar Mahmudur Razi delivered the verdict on Tuesday (Feb 6).

On November 19, the High Court issued a rule and suspended the recruitment process for six months after the initial hearing of a writ petition filed by 30 deprived candidates. Following this, the recruitment of 6,531 candidates was halted.

The recruitment circular was published on June 14, 2023. The final results of the recruitment test were announced on October 31, selecting 6,531 candidates based on their written and oral exam scores.
