DINAJPUR: Farmers put barricade on Dinajpur-Rangpur highway demanding water supplying front Teesta Barrage on Wednesday morning.

Agitating peasants took position on road in Bekipool bazaar area under Chirirbandar upazila from 11:00am that halted traffic movement on the highway.

Hundreds of passengers, who were stranded in both sides, are facing sufferings for the road blockade.  

Bangladesh Water Development Board (BWDB) irrigation officer Motahar Hossain confirmed the matter to banglanews.

Local said farmers failed to irrigate their lands as water supply from Teesta Barrage has remained stopped for long time. So, they are demonstrating for resuming water supply.
