HABIGANJ: Two people were killed as Sylhet-bound train Jayantika Express knocked them in Nasratpur Railgate area at Habiganj Sadar upazilla on Wednesday.

The deceased were identified as Shafique Mia, 45 and Dulal Mia, 25, son of Ruidan Mia, of Baghasura village under Madhabpur upazilla.

Local sources said Sylhet-bound Jayantika Express at Nasratpur Railgate knocked Shafique and Dulal down while crossing rail-truck in the area, leaving Dulal dead on the spot and Shafique injured critically.

Fatally injured Shafique died on his way to hospital.

Officer-in-Charge of Habiganj Sadar Police Station Mozammel Haque confirmed the matter to banglanews.
