Mahathir Hasan, 20, one of the accused in the murder case of Primeasia University student Zahidul Islam Parvez, gave a confessional statement today before a Dhaka court.

He gave his statement under section 164 before the court of Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Minhajul Islam. 

After recording his statement, the court sent him back to jail.

Parvez was fatally attacked near the university on April 19. 

He died from injuries sustained in the assault. Police arrested Mahathir on April 23 from Chattogram.
