The first Hajj flight of the year, carrying 398 Bangladeshi pilgrims, has departed from Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport for Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.
Flight SV-3803 took off from Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport at 2:20am early Monday, according to airport authorities.
Earlier, Religious Affairs Adviser Dr A F M Khalid Hossain inaugurated Hajj Flight 2025 at Ashkona Hajj Camp and urged pilgrims to follow Saudi laws and uphold Bangladesh’s image abroad.
On the first day, 4,180 pilgrims are scheduled to fly on 10 flights. A total of 87,100 Bangladeshis will perform Hajj this year, with pre-Hajj flights running until 31 May and return flights beginning on 10 June.
