Light to moderate rain or thundershowers are likely to occur in various parts of the country over the next 24 hours beginning Monday (May 26) morning, the Bangladesh Meteorological Department has said.

Moderate to heavy rainfall is expected in Rangpur, Rajshahi, Mymensingh, and Sylhet divisions.

The southwest monsoon has advanced into the Chattogram division, and conditions are favourable for its further progress across the country, the forecast said.

In addition, a low-pressure area is likely to form over the North Bay of Bengal and adjoining areas by Tuesday, the Met Office added.

Daytime temperatures across the country may remain nearly unchanged, while nighttime temperatures could drop slightly.
