Three people, including the driver, were killed when a bus collided head-on with a CNG-powered autorickshaw in Nabinagar upazila of Brahmanbaria early Thursday morning.
The crash occurred on the Nabinagar–Companiganj road in the Banshbazar area under Ibrahimpur union, according to police.
Two of the deceased have been identified as Abul Kasem, son of Hazrat Ali from Lapang village, and Sohag Mia, son of Billal Mia from Narayanpur village, who was driving the autorickshaw. The identity of the third victim, a passenger, is yet to be confirmed.
Sub-Inspector Azadur Rahman of Nabinagar Police Station said the autorickshaw was en route to Companiganj from Nabinagar when a speeding bus coming from the opposite direction struck the vehicle in Banshbazar, leaving all three occupants dead on the spot.
“Police rushed to the scene after being informed and recovered the bodies. Legal procedures are underway,” said SI Rahman.
