DHAKA: The government should take tight security measures to avert further tragic situation at Saint Martin’s Island in the Bay.

Nayan Islam, a student of Jagannath University, made the observation in a ‘Public Opinion’ event organized by banglanews24.com on Tuesday afternoon.

The leading online news portal organized the event on the tragic issue of drowning six students of Ahsanullah University at Saint Martins in the Bay recently.

He said every year the students and teachers of several schools, colleges and universities visit the island.

However, they face the tragic accidents every year. The government should take necessary initiatives in this regard, he added.

He also urged to ensure tight security in the island to prevent such sorrowful incidents.
