9 on fresh remand in N’ganj 7-murder

NARAYANGANJ: A Narayanganj court placed nine people on 2-day fresh remand each in the sensational seven murder case in Narayanganj.

Senior judicial magistrate of the district court Ishtiaq Ahamed handed down the orders on Wednesday after police produced them before the court with a five-day remand plea each under the section-54.

The accused are Liton alias Mehedi Hasan, Mofizul Haque Mofiz, M Sourov, Kawum, Nazrul Islam, Ashraful, M Kajol, M Jamal Hossain, Arifuzzaman Sarkar alias Arif.

They were arrested during a drive at the house on councilor Nur Hossain, prime accused in the case.

On Sunday, six people were palced on 7-day remand each in the murder case. The six accused are Tanvir Ahmed, Yasin alias Sipon, Alamgir Hossain, Sona Mina alias Imran, Juwel Ahmed Shahin and Mizan.

Besides, Abdur Rahim, who was nabbed with a mobile phone of Chadan  Sarkar, was also sent to remand for 7 days on Monday evening.

On April 30, Narayanganj City Corporation Councilor Nazrul Islam, senior lawyer Chandan Kumar Sarkar and five others were found dead floating on River Shitalkkhya after 3-day of their abduction.
