DHAKA: Communications Minister Obaidul Quader on Saturday ordered to stop plying any truck carrying Pangas fish on Dhaka-Mymansingh highway.

Obaidul gave the order when inaugurating the Bhaluka Bridge under the four-Lane project of Joydebpur-Mymansingh highway followed by opening Khiru Bridge located at Trishal of the district to traffic.

The minister said the Pangas carrying trucks are the main enemy of the highway because bitumen, used on road surface, goes up when water from the truck fall on there.

The highways would be fully utile within March next year after the four-lane project works would be finished, Obaidul informed.
