DHAKA: World Mother’s Day is a day for many people to show their appreciation towards mothers and mother figures worldwide. It is an annual event but is held at different dates in the calendar, depending on the country.
Mother's Day is celebrated on the second Sunday of the month of May in our country.
Mother’s day is the day of remembering the love, affection and care of the best well wisher in the World. A mother’s love is unconditional and unlimited. A mother is the truest friend we have. A mother holds her children's hands for a while, their hearts forever.
A mother gives birth of her children and from then till the last moment of her life she concerns for her children. Mother feeds her baby after giving birth. The first words of us come from mother.
Mother is the most beautiful and important person in the earth. She is our best critic, our strongest supporter in life.
Mother is an undying love, a love beyond compare. She is the one who really cares. She holds her baby tight when the baby struggle to walk. She makes the baby strong so that he can run a long way in life. Mother teaches us the very first learning and learning never ends because she is the best teacher in the world.
There is no doubt that we love our mother and this love is not limited for a special day. Mother is a person like no other in the world. She gave us birth, nurtured us very carefully, fed and dressed us in childhood, fought for us in critical situations, held our hands in great danger, kissed us most importantly loved us and will do unconditionally till last.
Mother has been always been a great influence in our life. There is none but mother who understands us the best.
A mother is a nurse, a teacher, a guardian, a philosopher and a true friend in everyone’s life. A mother’s dream is to see her children grow to be happy and successful.
Origin of Mother's Day goes back to the era of ancient Greek and Romans. But the roots of Mother's Day history can also be traced in UK where a Mothering Sunday was celebrated much before the festival saw the light of the day in US. However, the celebration of the festival as it is seen today is a recent phenomenon and not even a hundred years old. The day came into existence for the hard work of the pioneering women of their times, Julia Ward Howe and Anna Jarvis. Today the festival of Mothers day is celebrated across 46 countries (though on different dates) and is a hugely popular affair.
However, Mothers are wise and always right. We all know this from our experience. For, we have all grown up on the wisdoms and advice of our mother. Some of these advices, rather lessons remain with us forever and keep guiding us.
President of the country Advocate Abdul Hamid, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and opposition leader Rowshon Ershad, in different messages, greeted all the mothers of the world.
Different socio-cultural organizations chalked-out various programs across the country, ave chalked-out programs across the country to celebrate the day in a befitting manner.
The programs include holding discussions, organizing reception and cultural functions honoring the motherhood.
