SHERPUR: A minor drowned in a pond in Dhanshail village under Jhenaigati upazila of the district on Sunday afternoon.

The deceased was identified as Khusbu Mia, 2, son of Khokan Mia, of the village.

Family sources said the victim fell in the pond water while playing in the yard of the house and went missing.

Later, locals rescued the victim around 4:00pm and rushed him to Jhenaigati Upazila Health Complex where doctor declared him dead.
