TK 60 lakh to make pilot, job

DHAKA: The pilot training institute of United Airways is giving advertisements that it would impart training to be a pilot and also will also ensure hundred percent for job availability!

Concerned quarters have termed this advertisement of TAC Aviation Ltd as a big fraudulence. Because of some dream-lovers youths are spending Taka 60 lakh to fly in the air.

But there is no guarantee that they will fly in the air spending the huge money. So, the guarantee of hundred percent job assurance is a kind of deception.

TAC is the precise identity of United Airways Chairman’s name Captain Tasbirul Ahmed Chowdhury (TAC).

This wide range of deceptive activities has brought to the notice of Banglanews by many responsible quarters.

TAC is taking 35 lakh Taka on account of fly hour from each flight trainee. After paying in full the trainees are getting involved with United Air. The dream-lovers youth both male and female are getting trapped in the fraud.

In the attractive advertisements it is told for job guarantee. There is another big deception. After spending taka 35 lakh for training next the probationer pilots are asked to pay another Taka 23 lakh 75 thousand for commercial pilot license (CPL) but practically the United Air takes Taka 25 lakh.

At that time it is not possible for many to spend another Taka 25 lakh. This led to the frustration of not getting opportunity to fly in the air.

A source informed Banglanews that there are at present 26 trainees. Of them 12 are of first batch, 7 of second batch and the rest 5 belong to third batch. TAC training center is located at Sylhet Osmani airport.

It is natural that the number of trainees will increase for such attractive profession but due to fraudulent practice of United Air it is decreasing at geometrical progression.

There are a lot of allegations against this airline operator including service quality, delay in flying and closure of routes immediate after opening. The airliner has already become sick and stuffed with numerous problems.

There are complains against this operator to Banglanews those include non-functioning of air cooler, damaged seats and service failure. Banglanews put up several stories on this pathetic condition of airliner but of no use.

The source informed that the CAAB issued warnings to United Air to stop their operation if they fail to pay their arrear fee amounting to Tk 77 lakh. Next after giving written guarantee they were given permission for another three months for operating the air fields. Due to financial stringency they have already closed Dubai, Singapore and Bangkok routes. More routes have been closed by this time. In this way the operator has reached to a position of breakdown.

When the flight operations have reached to a breakdown point, then the earnings in the name of pilot training has made them a laughing stock. Some has termed it as a means of unethical earning.

However it is mysterious that despite many irregularities and public sufferings the civil aviation authority of Bangladesh (CAAB) is not going for any action.

In comparison to TAC fee Bangladesh Flying Academy is taking at least less Tk 10 lakh. A highly placed CAAB official told Banglanews that who will take how much for training is not their look out.

One former pilot told Banglanews that this excessive fee in the name of making pilot should be stopped immediately.

Assistant General Manager and spokesman of United Airways Kamrul Islam told Banglanews that as TAC has airlines so it is very much possible to ensure job of the pilot. However he did not make any comment about taking excessive fee.
