COMILLA: A police man was killed and five others were injured as a police van fell into a roadside ditch at Subarnapur under Sadar upazila of the district on Monday afternoon.

The deceased was identified as Hasan, 45, a traffic police, hailed from Comilla Sadar area.

Witnesses said a police van, while returning from polls duty at Subarnapur Government Primary School, fell into a roadside ditch in the area around 5:00pm, leaving six police men injured.

Locals rushed them to Comilla Medical College Hospital where Hasan succumbed to his injuries.

Confirming the matter, Kotwali Thana Inspector (Investigation) Samsuzzaman told banglanews that the body was sent to the morgue.
