JESSORE: At least seven people were killed and three hurt in a road accident on Jessore-Khulna highway in Rajghat Ahad Jute mill area in Abhaynagar upazila of the district on Tuesday.

The identity of the decease could not be known immediately.

Jessore Assistant Superintendent of Police Rasma Sharmin confirmed the matter to banglanews.

Locals said that the accident occurred as a jute-laden Khulna-bound truck rammed a human hauler, locally named Mahendra, in the area around 8:45 am, leaving five people dead on the spot and two others at hospital.

Three people were also injured whom were given treatment in the Abhaynagar Upazila Health Complex.
