COMILLA: Tow siblings drowned in Daudkandi upazila of the district on Thursday noon.

The deceased were identified as Rifat, 7 and Rabbi, 6, offspring of one Jahangir Alam, hailed from Kutubpur area of the upazila.

Local sources said Rabbi fell in the pond while playing beside a pond adjacent to their home.

Rifat also fell down while trying to save Rabbi and drowned, sources added.

Later, family members rescued them and rushed to local health complex where on duty doctor declared them dead.

Officer-in-Charge of Daudkandi Thana Abu Salam Mia confirmed the matter to banglanews.
