BGP attack on BGB intentional: DG

DHAKA: Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) Director General Major General Aziz Ahmed on Saturday said there is no scope of attack on neighboring country using the territory of Bangladesh.

The BGB chief came up with the observation in a press conference at BGB Headquarters at city’s Pilkhana on Saturday.

Earlier on Friday, BGP exchanged fire with BGB in Naikkhangchari frontier near international pillar no-52 at Panchhari border after BGP denied handing over the body of BGB member, whom they shot dead on Wednesday after abduction.

The BGP men of Myanmar handed over the body of BGB man Naik Mizanur Rahman at 5:45pm Saturday.

He also termed the attack of BGP to BGB as offensive and intentional.

Addressing the Rohingyas the ethnic group of Myanmar, BGB chief said there is no scope to fight with the neighboring countries using our land.

He added: “No Rohingyas or refugees are welcomed in our country.”
