Pabna shooting death toll now 4

PABNA: A Sramik League activist, who sustained bullet injuries on Saturday night at Pushpapara Bazar, succumbed to his injuries on way to Dhaka early Sunday. 

The deceased is Rafiqul Islam Kalu, 40, son of Sirazul Islam of Dharmagram village under sadar upazila. 

Sadar Thana Awami League organizing secretary Sheikh Rasel Ali Masud confirmed the matter to banglanews.

Earlier on Saturday night, three local Awami League activists were shot dead and two others including Rafiqul received bullet injuries in Pushpapara Bazar area in the district town.

Sources said a gang of miscreants shot five AL men in the area around 8:30pm, leaving three dead on the spot and two others injured critically.

The injured were rushed to local hospital and later Rafiqul was referred to Dhaka Medical College Hospital but he succumbed to his injuries at 5:30am on way.

Officer-in-Charge of Ataikula Thana Akram Hossain confirmed the matter to banglanews.

Rasel Ali Masud claimed that BNP-Jamaat men might have killed them.
