DHAKA: Cabinet Division on Sunday has sent a list of the country’s presidents from first president Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman to the Bangabhaban, the official residence of President of Bangladesh. 

The list have prepared after BNP senior vice-chairman Tarique Rahman’s controversial remarks where he claimed late president Ziaur Rahman was the country’s first president.

On May 26, president office senior secretary Sheikh Altaf Ali had sought the list of country’s presidents with their tenure after Liberation War time to cabinet. 

Following the demand, cabinet division sent the list to the Bangabhaban.      

Cabinet division joint secretary Abdul Wadud confirmed the matter to banglanews.
