GAZIPUR: The rail communications of Chittagong halted with Dhaka and Sylhet after a train derailed in Pubail area of the district at around 2:00pm Tuesday.

Witnesses said that thousands of passengers are now suffering there following the incident, while none has been reported injured.

Joydebpur railway junction Chief Station Master Sardar Zia Uddin said a compartment along the engine of Dhaka-bound Upakul Express derailed in the area.

The communications would become normal soon, he added.
