Govt. to recruit 32,000 police in 3 yrs: Sahara

DHAKA: Home Minister Advocate Sahara Khatun Friday said the government would recruit some 32,000 police personnel in next three years to bolster the force for improving country’s law-and-order situation.

The minister disclosed the plan at the prize-awarding ceremony for the scholarly students of SSR High School and SSR Institute of Technology and Management in Ashulia area of Savar.   

Sahara also said, “We have taken initiative to arm the law-enforcing agencies with modern training and increase facilities apart from recruiting more manpower in the police force.”

She sought cooperation from all in keeping law and order stable.

Local MP Talukder Mohammad Towhid Jong Murad, Director-General of the Society of Social Reform (SSR) Bangladesh Dr. Midhat Atia and teacher of Begum Badrunnesa Govt Girls College Iffat Ara Nargis attended the programme. Executive Officer of Savar Upazila Rabbi Mia was in the chair.
