GAZIPUR: Vehicular movement became normal on Dhaka-Mymensingh highway at 2:00pm after students kept the highway blocked in Tangi area for several hours on Tuesday.

Several hundreds of students blocked the highway after a covered van killed a schoolgirl of Tangi Safiuddin Sarkar Kindergarten 12:00 pm

Following the death, students began demonstration, set fire to vehicle and locked clashed with police.

Police fired several rounds of blank shots in a bid to bring normalcy in the area.

Tangi Thana Officer-in-Charge Ismail Hossain told banglanews, “Vehicular movement has resumed on the highway.”

The OC, however, could not confirm the girl’s death, which was caused by the accident.
