BARISAL: A woman and her daughter were killed in a road accident in Atipara under Ujirpur of the district on Tuesday night while her husband was injured seriously.

The deceased were identified as Mily Begum, 22, wife of Aminul Islam, residing in Moktar Bari under Kashipur of the city and her daughter Tahia, 3.

However, the injured is now in under treatment in Barisal Sher-e-Bangla Medical College Hospital.

Ujirpur Thana Officer-in-Charge (OC) Anwar Hossain told banglanews that the incident took place around 10:30pm, when, the motorcycle, on which they were riding, collided head-on with a microbus, leaving Tahia dead on the spot and the couple injured.

“Later, Mily died after locals rushed them to the Barisal Sher-e-Bangla Medical College Hospital,” he added.

The OC said that police detained the driver along with the microbus.
