PM returns from China

DHAKA: Wrapping up her 6-day official visit to China, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina returned Dhaka at 2:15pm Wednesday.

A VVIP flight of Biman Bangladesh Airlines carrying her landed at Shahjalal International Airport.

Earlier, the Prime Minister and members of her entourage departed Beijing International Airport at 11:00am Chinese time (9:00am BDST) for Dhaka.

Vice Minister for Foreign Affairs of China Liu Zhenmin and Bangladesh Ambassador in Beijing Muhammad Azizul Haque saw the Premier off at the airport.

Ministers, parliament members, senior Awami League leaders and high civil and military officials were present at the airport to welcome Sheikh Hasina.

Earlier, the PM went there on Friday to attend the inaugural ceremony of the 2nd China-South Asia Expo in Kunming.

Commerce Minister Tofael Ahmed, Foreign Minister AH Mahmood Ali, PM's Advisor on Political Affairs HT Imam, PM's Media Advisor Iqbal Sobhan Chowdhury, State Minister for Foreign Affairs M Shahriar Alam, Foreign Secretary Shahidul Haque and PM's Press Secretary AKM Shamim Chowdhury, among others, accompanied the premier during her visit to China.

A 70-member business delegation also visited China with Hasina.
