MEHERPUR: Four people were killed and 40 others injured as a passenger bus overturned at Meherpur government college intersection of the district on Thursday morning. 

The deceased was identified as Mehedi Hasan, 26, Shato, 23, Sirajul Islam, 53 and Shariful, 40.

The accident took place on Kushtia-Meherpur highway around 10:00am. 

Meherpur police super AKM Nahidul Islam confirmed the matter to banglanews.

He said the bus, coming from Kushtia, turned turtle at college intersection as its driver lost control over the steering, leaving four dead and injured others.
