72-hr truck strike begins in Sylhet

SYLHET: The 72-hour long strike, called by district Truck Worker Union, is underway in the district from Sunday morning in protest against illegal toll collection and on a demand of Sylhet-Companiganj road renovation.

The strike started from 6:00am Sunday and will continue till Tuesday morning.

In a meeting of organization, with district Truck Sramik Union President Abu Sarkar in the chair, called the strike on Saturday afternoon. 

Sylhet District Truck Group president Abul Kayer Izu, General Secretary Ifterkhar Ahmad Sohel, Pulak Kabir Chowdhury, Truck Sromik leader Dilu Mia, Abdus Salam, Muzibur Rahman were present in the meeting.
