CHANDPUR: Two minors drowned in a pond at Laxmipur village under Faridganj upazila of the district on Thursday afternoon.

The deceased were identified as Abdullah, 5, son of Hanif Mia and Amena Akter, 4, niece of Hanif Mia, also daughter of Beauti Begum.

Family sources said the minors fell into the pond adjacent to their house while playing on its bank at noon.

Finding them nowhere, families of the duo started searching and later found them floating on the water.

They were rushed to upazila health complex where on duty doctors declared them dead.

Officer-in-Charge of Faridganj Thana M Najmul Haque confirmed the matter to banglanews.
