Budget session resumes

FROM JATIYA SANGSAD: The budget session of the tenth Parliament has resumed at 11:13 am Sunday, after a two-day recess. 

Speaker Dr Shirin Sharmin Chaudhury is presiding over the 2nd session of 10th Parliament. Earlier on Thursday, she adjourned the parliament till 11:00am Sunday.

At first, the ministers will join general question-answer session and then they will join in a general discussion over the proposed budget for 2014-15 fiscal year.

The session of the new parliament started on January 29 that ended on April 10.

The first budget session starts on June 3 that will prolong to July 3 and the new fiscal year’s budget is likely to be approved on June 29.

Jatiya Party, as part of the government and main opposition party, joined the parliament, from the first day of the maiden session. 

For the first time, the opposition party is trying to raise their voice in the parliament leaving behind the tradition of boycotting the parliament.
