CHITTAGONG: The rail communications of Chittagong with other parts of the country resumed on Sunday afternoon after five hours disruption.
The rail communications has started around 4:40pm, said railway East Zone chief transport officer Mihir Kanti Guha.
Earlier the rail communications halted due to flash flood in Bhatiary of Sitakunda Sunday.
The railway authority decided to stop the train service around 1:00pm.
“The sands and stones under the rail lines washed away due to excessive rain in various spots. Besides, rail lines went under water in some places due to flash flood. So, authority stopped the service to avoid accident,” he said.
