CHITTAGONG: A suspected burglar was beaten to death by a mob of villagers at Gabindorkhil village under Patia upazila in the district early Monday.    

Imtiaz Ahmed, Officer-in-Charge of Patia Thana, said local people caught a young stranger at around 4am in front of one Mohammad Hossain`s house while he was moving around. “They beat him mercilessly, leaving him dead on the spot.”

Police sent the body to Chittagong Medical College Hospital morgue.

An unnatural death case was filed with Patia Thana.
