FARIDPUR: Workers have stopped bus services in the district following a clash between Mahendra and bus workers here in Rajbari intersection on Monday.

Sources said that the strike started from 10:00am.

They told banglanews that earlier bus and mahendra (a local human hauler) workers were locked in a clash over carrying passengers from that area.

At one stage, a bus driver along with his helper was beaten by two mahendra drivers, sources added.

Later, bus workers stopped bus services there.

Confirming the matter, Faridpur Nejarat Deputy Collector (NDC) Mwandeep Gharai said that the administration is trying to solve the issue.

He hoped to restart bus service soon.
